Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic ‘Ramayana’ is expanding its global promotional run. After a grand trailer launch in Delhi and a showcase planned for San Diego Comic-Con, the makers are now working on a special preview at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The film’s trailer released in New Delhi on July 18. The event was billed as one of the biggest promotional launches for an Indian film. Two versions of the trailer were certified by the censor board. One theatrical cut runs 4 minutes and 15 seconds, and it received a U certificate from the Mumbai regional office on July 15.

The San Diego Comic-Con showcase

Following Delhi, the makers took the film to San Diego Comic-Con. Ramayana secured an official panel at the festival, with producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Yash presenting an exclusive first look. The panel was scheduled for July 23 at 3:15 pm PDT in Ballroom 20.

The venue can seat close to 4,800 people and regularly hosts major studio presentations, underlining the makers’ plan to build an international audience for the film. A source close to the project said the Comic-Con appearance was meant to present the story as a global cinematic event rather than just an Indian one.

The planned TIFF preview

The makers are now looking at a special preview during the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The 2026 edition of TIFF will run from September 10 to September 20 in Toronto. This would mark another step in the film’s international rollout, following its stops in Delhi and San Diego.

Details on the exact date, venue and format of the TIFF preview are not out yet.
